If you love a waterfront or city view and want to be as close to the city’s core as you are to the boardwalk, you may want to consider buying a Downtown Waterfront or Harbourfront condominium. I’ve seen a lot of beautiful properties during my time as a Realtor but there’s something about those views from inside Downtown Waterfront condos that literally takes my breath away.

The Real Estate Scoop

If you are thinking about making the Downtown Waterfront or Harbourfront your new home or investment you’re in luck because there are a lot to choose from. I guess that’s what happens when you have a lake that looks like an ocean and a city skyline with one of the Seven Wonders Of The Modern World in it. Lots of people want a piece of that. Did you know that the CN Tower has a lighting schedule to honour national holidays, seasons, city events and commemorate or make honour to brave Canadians? If you have a Downtown Waterfront condo you may have the luxury of seeing this every night. Other awesome things from a real estate perspective about the Downtown Waterfront and Harbourfront? Steps to the Waterfront Trail where you might literally run into me when I’m out training for a marathon, steps to streetcar and subway access, and a short jaunt to Toronto’s Entertainment, Fashion and Financial Districts. Down here you’ll find lots of glass and lots of variety from tiny little bachelor pads to sprawling and exclusive penthouses. I’ve helped a lot of people buy their first homes here and I would be happy to show you around too.

The Neighbourhood

Living on the Downtown Waterfront is all about quality of life; you can leave the hustle of the city behind and take in the tranquility of the lake. Or you can leave the lake behind and enjoy the vibrance of the downtown core. Literally — the best of both worlds. Let’s talk about the ridiculously close proximity to Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport for easy jet-setting too. You literally can walk to the airport. The downtown Waterfront is currently undergoing massive revitalization to the tune of a $110 million dollar transformation plan. So if the waterfront isn’t enough for you now get ready for a “waterfront showpiece,” a “must-see Toronto destination,” and “This city’s Champs-Elysées” very soon.

Looking for the perfect Saturday night activity on the Downtown Waterfront? You may want to strap on some skates and hit the Natrel outdoor rink where DJs from Toronto and beyond transform the city’s most scenic outdoor skating rink into the coolest dance floor in town. Or check out when the Toronto FC is playing next. You can walk to the BMO Field from the Waterfront and see Toronto’s best soccer places win. Don’t have a car? No big deal. The Downtown Waterfront has all your conveniences – Starbucks, Groceries, Dry Cleaners and Banks – all accessible by foot.
